Why Membership?
In the Church, "membership" isn't about gaining access to rights and privileges as much as it is about owning the mission. At The Vine, members are those who share in the beliefs and partner in the ministry-- the work-- of our church. All are welcome to worship with us and participate in our community, but membership is a kind of covenant with our community: It's a commitment to a local expression of the global Church, to be physically present and personally known.
Requirements for Membership
To become a member of The Vine, one must:
- Be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Agree with the basics of worldwide and historic Christian faith, as expressed in the Apostle's Creed (found in membership form)
- Share your story of faith on your membership form (below).

As a member of The Vine, one is committing to: Presence, Serving, Giving, Growing
- PRESENCE: Worshiping regularly with us,
- SERVING: Finding the place where your gifts meet the needs of this church family.
- GIVING: generously supporting the healing work of Jesus' Kingdom in this world; some or all of this generosity should support your local church.
- GROWING: a promise to always learn and grow in health and relationship with Jesus and those around you.
Members also vote on important decisions when called on, such as the election of new Vestry Members.

Our Anglican Communion
We belong to a large branch of the Christian family known as Anglicans. This is a more recent development for The Vine. It’s a long story, but the Lord led us here. We are in the biblically traditional and gospel-driven province of the Anglican Church in North America and Diocese of the Carolinas. If you would like to learn more about being confirmed and following Jesus in the “Anglican Way,” you can explore more below.
