Common Questions

Do you have modern or traditional worship?

At The Vine, we blend modern and traditional. We use an ancient form of worship with a blend of modern and traditional hymns and worship songs. Our services are geared around two main moments: hearing and speaking on Scripture, and Communion. Listen to songs we often sing.

Do you have childcare or options for youth?

Midway through our service children ages 4 through 5th grade may leave to attend LifeLessons. There is nursery care (ages 0-3) every Sunday as well. We especially value the children in our midst — when your children go out of the service for Sunday School (or nursery care), know they are well taken care of.

Youth (6-12th grade) meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday from 5:00 – 7:30PM — all youth are welcome.

What can I wear?

Casual or dressy, it’s your choice. Either way, you’ll feel at home.

Can I take Communion at your church?

All baptized and repentant believers are welcome to take Communion, even if you are not a Vine member. All others are invited to come receive a blessing if desired; simply cross your hands over your chest to receive a blessing.

What if I’m not quite ready to visit on a Sunday?

Consider checking out Alpha! Alpha is a great first step if you’re not ready to visit on a Sunday or can’t make it on a Sunday. Alpha is a space for anyone to have an honest conversation about faith and meaning in community.

Planning to visit soon?

An RSVP isn't required, but we'd love to better serve you when you arrive.

What To Expect

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42)

EXEPCT A WARM WELCOME

We look forward to your visit. When you come to the door, there will be someone there to welcome you and answer any questions you have.

You’ll find a worship guide for our service, and information about our kids ministry, on our welcome table.

EXPECT AN ANCIENT PATTERN OF WORSHIP

Every Sunday we sing, pray, read scripture, confess our sins, share God’s forgiveness, and receive spiritual nourishment at the Lord’s Table. This ancient rhythm of worship is dear to us because it walks us through the passion of Jesus and disciples us as followers of Jesus. Some parts of the service may seem traditional, modern, or contemplative, or even like a conversation among friends.

EXPECT GOD TO SPEAK

We believe God speaks to us every Sunday. We emphasize reading and praying (a lot of) Scripture in our service. By the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s Word speaks to us.

Our pastors offer prayerfully-prepared sermons from the Scripture readings that emphasize how God wants to encourage us in our specific time and place.

EXPECT HOLY COMMUNION

Each Sunday we celebrate God’s grace by sharing a symbolic meal called Communion. In the bread and wine (grape juice), we mysteriously receive Jesus who said, “this is my body, given for you.” We come in the posture of humility — with open hands — knowing that God will meet our need. All are welcome at the Table; the baptized to receive the elements, and anyone else to receive a blessing.

EXPECT MULTIGENERATIONAL WORSHIP

We believe all ages and life experiences make our fellowship richer. Christ welcomed the young and the old, the rich and the poor, those of great faith and those seeking faith. We joyfully receive worshipers of all ages, wiggles included! Nursery care is available for ages 0-3, and a children’s lesson is provided during the sermon time for kids ages 4 through 5th grade.

EXPECT THE PASTORS TO BE AVAILABLE

Our pastors welcome your questions and would love to hear your story. They are available to talk with you after the service or to meet for conversation during the week. Their hope is for you to know, no matter what, that:

You are welcome. You are loved. You can belong.
